We are a coalition of Private and Public For Profit & Non-Profit organizations, dedicated to the personal/professional development of community members, and the social/economic expansion of West Charlotte and beyond. Our mission is to contribute to an environment of excellence through the education, social economics, community events, and more.
Juneteenth Charlotte Celebration began in 2020 with a mission to celebrate the greatness of African/Indigenous American contributions to society. While most discussions of African/Indigenous American history focus on a period of bondage, our goal is to celebrate the MANY years of freedom and excellence that expands beyond that. This event serves as a reminder to celebrate excellence and to continue thriving in greatness.
SESA University is a 508(c)1 A Educational Ministry founded by Charita "Riziki" Evans. SESA University was created to offer support in personal and professional growth through education, community engagement, and creating opportunities for social commerce through its Private Members Association.
The branch is named in memory of two late civil rights activists: Willie J. “Strat” Stratford, Sr. and James “Jim” Richardson. Both men stood for positive change in Charlotte at a time when schools, parks and other public places were still racially segregated. We're thankful for their dedication to their mission and for leaving a legacy that continues to impact the lives of this community.
